DECAL

A project that uses my family car window as an exhibition space - the work exists as a static-cling decal stuck in the back window.

Each decal is commissioned from a different artist and exhibited for an indefinite period of time (start and end dates will be updated on this project-archive page as time progresses).

Multiples of the decal are available to buy from my shop HERE, for a mere £5 each (p&p not included), and are limited (initially) to an edition of 10 (with 5 APs, primarily in the hands of the artist).

Scott Robertson

First up is Scott Robertson with ‘Back Home’, 8/12/2025 - to…

Scott says, “It's the phrase Back Home, but flipped around, sometimes upside down, back to front etc. I like the idea of it over a doorway, like some Sorority House. The font tries to echo that. As someone who left where I came from at a young age, and who has never been back, I have always felt a bit of a visitor wherever it is I am living. The idea of Home has never really existed for me, it's not what I hoped it would be. I have felt more comfortable away, in a temporary state. That said, I have now lived in the South East of England for well over 20 years, but am reminded quite frequently I'm not from here. And I have worked away for long periods for most of that. And with all the recent years endless chat about migration, immigration, as if people are somehow invading, I like to remind people that more than likely their version of home no longer exists also. It's just slightly disorientating, not a lot, but enough to feel uncomfortable. It's a suggestion of somewhere we might belong. This keeps coming back to me, always, like I'm sort of yearning for a home, somewhere to belong, but its not quite as simple as that.”

Scott, originally from Ayr in Scotland, is based in Hastings, Kent. You can see his work and find out more about him on these various projects/websites that he’s responsible for:
